You might have been using Gerund a lot in your daily activities. Basicaly Gerund is a noun (not a verb), but it is formed fom a verb. Gerund is : Verb + ing --> you might think it is the same as the present continuous form. Yes, precisely they are the same. BUT, they have different usage. Check this out : 1. It is a swimming pool. --> Gerund as compound noun (swimming pool) 2. Thinking of you is my hobby --> Gerund as a subject of a sentence 3. She is really good at speaking English --> Gerund also has a place after preposition 4. I look forward hearing from you soon. --> This is a special case. Because i look forward hearing from is a phrasal verb which contain gerund hearing in it. 5.
